The very talented and lovely Cris Delara will be chatting about fantasy art, and in particular Pin-Ups, while she works her digital magic on screen, at It'sArt Live. Still a fledgling project, but gathering momentum. You can watch the live video and lob questions and comments in using the text messaging service provided on the page. She will try and field as many as she can. Her partner Alex will be there to help field questions and make things go more smoothly.
November 19th 2010 - The session begins at 1PM GMT London - 2PM in France - 8AM in Canada - and will go on for at least an hour.
If you notice the time on the countdown clock is wrong by 12 hours - do please ignore - technical error.
Many thanks to Patrice Leymarie, the man behind It'sArt, without whose tireless efforts none of this would be possible.
We're adding to the live sessions soon with an ArtRage based slot, in which I will hopefully be participating on a regular basis. As should be the outstanding Jon Hodgson begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting and Gaeton L. (well known in the Ambient forum for his outstanding explanations as Someonesane)

Vidcap on Youtube
ImagineFX have stomped ahead and the vidcp for that SKetchbook Pro workshop is already loaded on their Youtube channel. I've included a link to it in this journal entry, and have stored a more permanent link in my vidcap link box on my profile page. The box has also been updated with the Fancy a Dunk vidcap link and another to one about creating a swirling effect in ArtRage done at the same time. More to follow soon for those among you who have trouble getting to sleep . . . . .

Fancy a Dunk Vidcap?
April issue of ImagineFx magazine saw another me lucky enough to have another two entires in the Q&A section on show. I had time to cobble a vidcap together for each of these - and I use the word cobble advisedly. I'm not your slick movie maker and you need to be prepared for a god deal of extraneous waffle, which reflects the way I tend to work anyhow. May issue is already out on the shelves and one of the vidcaps has been released (or maybe it just escaped . . . ?) onto the the IFX Youtube channel. It relates to the image shown here and is using ArtRage 3.55, in case any of you are interested or have a thing for waffle.

Sketchbook Pro 6 Workshop in Issue 93 of ImagineFX
Lucky enough to have been asked to supply another little workshop for my favourite magazine around Christmas. It's in issue 93 which hit the shelves February 1st in the UK, but should be available elsewhere in download format if you inhabit more interesting places and fancy a look. It's just me playing about to create an image in SKetchbook Pro which stands as my equal favourite software with ArtRage. They each have different things to offer and are both great.
Sketchbook Pro really is worth a look if you haven't taken advantage of the free trial already. Don't take my word - track down the Bobby Chiu vidcap where he shows how he created
About Time
Hi Guys,
Although a hectic work schedule is no excuse for such a long silence, that's the one I'm going to lob in here. As deadlines get relentlessly tighter and I dither at my usual pace, the combination eats up my time and energy like never before. Exciting but tiring is the best description. My period of silence has seen me complete five book projects, each requiring 10-15 internal illustrations and perhaps a cover, plus I've been lucky enough to have had a pretty regular slot in the ImagineFX magazine Q&A squad. For me it's the best magazine about digital painting avaialble at the moment, whether fantasy and sci-fi is your particular
