Dragon Quest - Sailor's Rest by Nickillus Dragon Quest - Sailor's Rest by Nickillus
Did the watercolour paintings for a children's book called 'Dragon Quest' a while ago. It first came out in the late 1990's but seems to have gone through a reprint a couple of years ago.
Worked on it with the fantastic Andy Dixon, who has a delicious sense of the absurd. Went on to work with him on a subsequent title in the series 'Star Quest'.

Apologies for the poor quality of the reproduction here (and page gutter on show). Had to scan it from the printed book as the publisher kept the originals. We've had a bit of a falling out about that.

Published by Usborne.

I have this book from the first time it was printed. I still enjoy looking through all the scenes, great illustrations!

Thanks Orbixitron. It was a combination of fun and a nightmare of organisation to do - much more fun than nightmare though. Glad you still like it.

Had this out of the library a few months ago, my son loves rooting through your paintings and finding all the hidden details... Great bedtime reading.

thanks Aaron,
Hearing stuff like that makes the hours and hours spent doing it all worthwhile. Delighted to hear he likes it. But does it help him go to sleep?
Wow holy crap. I think I like the pirate who has holes in his hat and wear it as a mask haha, also the guy hangong upside down from the top. Very lively and awesome nice job!

Thanks Exarrdin. But then I'd have to spend all my time answering them instead of drawing and painting. NOooooooo !
